Medal of Honor
I come from a military family . My father served in the Navy for 22 years and many of our ancestors served long careers in the military. I visited Normandy for the first time in my life last year and the emotion was overwhelming. I find the same emotions welling when reading this book.
The book chooses to tell the stories of the 140 surviving Medal of Honor recipients. Stories that will absolutely astound you while at the same time reinforcing a pride in our people and our country. The stories are of common place Americans who, when challenged under duress , rise up to face the challenge with complete disregard for their own well being.
